Ocean Grove, NJ Vacation Rentals
For 140 years and counting, the community of Ocean Grove, New Jersey has welcomed visitors to the splendors of the Atlantic Shore. Technically situated in Neptune Township in Monmouth County, Ocean Grove is home to stunning architectural artifacts from the Victorian era. The town has even won the distinction of being named on the National Register of Historic Places.
From your Ocean Grove, New Jersey rental, you can explore year-round attractions that have delighted everyone from U.S. presidents to vacationers from around the world.
One of Ocean Grove's top treasures is the Great Auditorium, located on Ocean Parkway near Fletcher Lake along Route 71 (one of the ten most beautiful streets in the country, according to a national survey!).
The Great Auditorium was built in 1894. It can accommodate over 6,200 people. Its pipe organ is one of the 25 biggest organs on Earth. Built in the early 1900s by Robert Hope Johns, the instrument has over 10,800 pipes and 176 racks. Famed organists from Virgil Fox to Frederick Swann have tested their skills on the instrument.
During the late summer months (July and August), the Great Auditorium puts on free public shows on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Popular past performers have included The Beach Boys, Johnny Memphis, and John Philip Sousa.
Of course, your New Jersey shore vacation in Ocean Grove will likely consist of more than just taking in amazing entertainment at the Great Auditorium.
